Dr. Janet Dix is a counseling psychologist who sees clients of all ages. She has a special interest in providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents. She received her Ph.D. from Kent State University and belongs to the American Psychological Association and the Ohio Psychological Association.

Dr. Dix uses a variety of approaches in her work depending on the client and the nature of the problem. She uses behavior modification, cognitive therapy and play therapy. Some of the problems she deals with are depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, family maladjustment, suicide, learning disabilities, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), school related problems, post traumatic stress and eating disorders. She utilizes input from parents, teachers, and physicians and in some cases, probation officers in her work. When needed, testing is incorporated with treatment, and assessments are made in the areas of intelligence, personality, academics, cognitive functioning and AD/HD.

Dr, Dix is experienced in conducting training seminars and teaching leadership skills. She has expertise in educating clients in the areas of interpersonal communication techniques, risk management, time management and decision-making.
